Creating your personal brand
Lubna Forzley shared her experience of creating your personal brand with our Mums@Work members last week at our event hosted at NEST. Mum of 4; that is her 3 gorgeous children and her “Stories”, Lubna had us thinking about being visible for the right reasons. “Your brand is what other people say about you when you are not in the room”. That had us all thinking about what we put out into the world, our image, our mark and the infinite social media outlets. The objective is forcing us to look at ourselves and answer nuanced questions about how we value products and the people behind them.
Your own personal brand tells your audience 3 things:
- Who you are?
- What you do?
- What makes you different; or how you create value for others
All great brands are characterized by their ability to communicate. Think about brands out there, think about how they are remembered. Great brands are characterized by being: consistent, distinct, valuable, trustworthy, visible and authentic. Lubna shared with us specific questions and guidelines in putting plans together and goals for ourselves; ways in which to maximize branding through various social media platforms and how to utilize them.
We leave with thoughts of legacy. What will your legacy be? What footprint are you leaving behind? How will you be remembered?
“Steve was among the greatest of American innovators – brave enough to think differently,
bold enough to believe he could change the world, and talented enough to do it.” Barack Obama on Steve Jobs
This is some of what our mums had to say,
- “very informative and knowledgeable”
- “take home steps I will think about”
- “detailed Q&A and full engagement with the audience”
- “examples where very helpful…”
We are looking forward to having Lubna back with us, so keep in touch on our events page for new and upcoming sessions.
