Perfect Family Weekend with Privilee

Those of you that know a little about me know that I am an exercise freak, I love a nice pool day… and spending as much time as I can with my kids is always top of my list (one of the main drivers for creating Women@Work). Well last weekend I managed to tick all boxes – a #mummywin

With two young kids and a long summer ahead of us my husband and I have been nervously wondering how we will keep them entertained/tire them out without having to spend every dirham in the bank.  Last weekend we discovered the wonderful world of Privilee…

The lovely team at Privilee introduced us hard-working mammas at Women@Work to their fab membership which allows you to visit 20+ hotels, beach clubs, gyms and spas in Dubai and Abu Dhabi as often as you like for one monthly fee (which is actually pretty reasonable for the five-star treatment you receive).

We began our Privilee experience on Thursday afternoon, as I made the most of my flexible working and headed to the beautiful Palace Downtown, cooling down at the pool whilst slowing watching the sunset overlooking the Burj Khalifa (which was a huge thrill to Hamdan 3 ½) – not a bad end to the working week.

Roll forward to Friday morning, 7am (yes we get up VERY early in our house) we were nicely settled at The Fairmont on the Palm – lapping up the beautiful sea views and searching for sharks (my youngest is obsessed with sharks) Once the heat started to kick in we took a spot in the shaded kids pool which was a perfect way to spend the morning, everyone entertained and a happy mummy as I managed to sneak in a workout in the great gym – thanks to Daddy daycare and the fab kids club!

All afternoon the kids asked which pool we could visit tomorrow – yes first world problems from our Dubai babies! Keen to try out The Sofitel on the Palm as we had heard the kid’s area is fab. We worked our way through the pool with the slide, which Daddy seemed to love the most. Over to the kids splash area and kids club followed by a family swim over in the main pool, the service was impeccable and the views made us all feel like we were on holiday.

In all a great family weekend, everyone had lots of fun (even daddy who is anti-outdoors in the summer), it felt like a staycation without the stress of packing and with the discount on food and drinks worked out really reasonable! I was super relaxed heading back to the office on Sunday – big thumbs up from the Karim family. O, I’m also planning on making most of the gyms this in the evenings this week and maybe a sneaky spa treatment (which you get great discounts on as a member)– it’s definitely one to look into for the summer mummas!

Any downsides? You need to plan a little if you have small kids, I’d say early mornings and late afternoons would be perfect all throughout the summer. Check out their website for more info on the hotels, gyms, spas and membership
