Cigna and Women@Work Partnership Event The Balancing Act of Leading : Recipes for Work-life balance and Career Success
We are delighted to announce our partnership with Cigna, the global health services company, whose mission is to improve the health and well-being for all and is ranked at 13th on Fortune500.
Cigna are not only passionate about health and wellness but also believes in creating a diverse and inclusive workplace and nurturing an environment for all to succeed. Cigna has many impactful initiatives in place throughout their business that are driving change for women, most recently they launched their ambitious goal to reach gender parity among leadership within five years.
Change is the hallmark for 2020 and managing intensified work, childcare and housework has been more difficult than ever, for parents in particularly Mothers. Recent research studies reveal that one in four women are considering downshifting their careers or leaving the workforce entirely since the outbreak of a global pandemic.
Women@Work and Cigna recognise this pressure women are under and are here to support your journey. We will be hosting a virtual event on Tuesday April 6th with a panel of inspirational panel of speakers who each have extremely interesting and unique stories to tell, whilst offering great advice and techniques to achieving work-life balance and managing the juggle we are all facing every day.
Our panel includes:
Dr Hamsa Saleh al Ammari – An Emirati leader and a mother of 3 children. For the past 19 years, Dr Hamsa has been pivotal in the UAE education sector, most recently as Executive Director at Higher Colleges of Technology (HCT) and currently reading for her Doctorate at UAE University, Al Ain
Dr Reem – Group CEO Saudi German Hospital Group. Her drive for excellence has been rewarded with numerous titles to her role. Featured in the Forbes Middle East’s 200 most powerful Arab women listing in 2020 and 2015, Dr. Reem has many honours to her name, including being one of the top 30 Most Influential Women in the Arab World in 2019, top 15 most influential business people in the Emirate, according to Arabian Business in 2017, Humanitarian Work Award by the Distinctive International Arab Festival Awards -DIAFA Ceremony in 2020. In addition to her achievements, the international organization for development and human rights nominated Dr. Reem Osman as a peace ambassador
Isil Ata – Head of HR, Cigna Middle East & Africa. Isil is responsible for overseeing HR management, policies and practices and ensuring their alignment with the company’s overall business objectives and strategy. Isil brings to her role over 20 years of experience across various areas of HR functions and has built HR departments from the ground up. She has worked in leading multinational companies, across varied industries
Karthik Manivasagam – Head of Corporate Underwriting MEA. A globetrotting finance professional with work experience in the Middle East, US, India, Asia-Pac, and Africa. He is currently the Head of Corporate Underwriting for Cigna’s Middle East and Africa business and lives with his wife and 18-month old daughter in Dubai. Karthik has an MBA from the University of Rochester
